Our tour begins at JR Osakajokoen Station. We’ll immediately start our walk through the vast Osaka Castle Park. As we head toward the castle, you’ll feel the history of the area, passing beautiful gardens and stone walls that build anticipation for the journey ahead.

Gokurakubashi Bridge and Photo Stop

Our first stop is the beautiful Gokurakubashi Bridge, which spans the castle’s moat. This is the perfect spot for a great photo with the castle tower and the moat in the background. This bridge was once a key entry point into the castle.

A Boat Ride on the Moat

After our photo stop, we’ll board a sightseeing boat for a 20-minute cruise on the moat. While listening to an audio guide, you’ll get a unique, up-close view of the massive stone walls. Be sure to look for the carved marks on the stones, which tell a story of the people who built this castle long ago. The view of Osaka Castle from the water is a powerful sight, very different from the view on land.

History Talk in Front of the Castle Tower

After the boat ride, we will make our way up to the main tower. Here, we’ll stop for another photo. Your guide will provide a clear explanation of the tower’s history and the life of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who built the castle.

Visit to Hokoku Shrine

Leaving the main tower, we’ll visit Hokoku Shrine, which is dedicated to Toyotomi Hideyoshi himself. Your guide will share deeper stories about his character and how he unified Japan. You’ll gain a better understanding of one of the most important figures in Japanese history.

Tour Ends: Return to JR Osakajokoen Station

After visiting the shrine, we’ll walk back through Osaka Castle Park to the station. Your guide will recap what you’ve learned on the tour. The tour concludes upon arrival at JR Osakajokoen Station.
